该转换器允许用户通过外部器件选择所需的分辨率和动态性能。借助该转换器，用户可以选择10位、12位、14位或16位的分辨率；设置为10位分辨率时，可以跟踪转速最高达1040转/秒(62,400 rpm)的旋变信号。

 

AD2S83利用比率跟踪转换方法将旋变格式输入信号转换为并行自然二进制数字字。这样确保具有高抗扰度并支持长引线，从而可将转换器远离旋变器放置。

 

A它也可以提供与转速成比例的精密模拟信号，从而取代转速传感器。AD2S83的参考频率范围为0 Hz至20,000 Hz。
